Standardize railway supplies and certify their quality
- As the rise in railway investment amid railway industry restructuring program has opened a window of opportunities for multiple railway operators to join the market, there are growing needs for standardization and interoperability of railway supplies. However, as the national standard specification (KS) does not provide specific standards addressing unique technical characteristics of rolling stock, a set of national standards specifically applicable to railway industry are developed to lay groundwork for standardization and interoperability of technologies to ensure ease of maintenance.
- Quality certification system applicable to performance and safety assurance of railway parts, instruments or devices is introduced to prevent accidents attributable to quality degradation or defect by assuring the quality of railway supplies critical to safety and performance from manufacturing phase.
